Position Overview:

This position has responsibility for providing Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) technical support, oversight, and assistance to regional SHE representatives, plants and facilities.  Support the information needs of plant level, regional and corporate management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation and review of Safety, Health and Environmental policies, programs and procedures.
  • Respond to Safety, Health and Environmental questions, issues, and problems from locations.
  • Provide Safety, Health and Environmental regulatory and technical support to locations.
  • Perform technical reviews and audits of Safety, Health and Environmental regulatory submissions, testing and monitoring activities, and written programs.
  • Investigate significant Safety, Health and Environmental incidents.
  • Coordinate the exchange of Safety, Health and Environmental information and best management practices between locations.
  • Create Safety, Health and Environmental reports, studies, and documents for management as required.
  • Develop and provide training to locations.
  • Provide mentoring to Safety, Health and Environmental Specialists, Coordinators and Managers.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant technical or science field required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of combined industrial Safety, Health and Environmental regulatory management experience. Experience in Agri-business industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of facility manufacturing regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc).  .
  • No direct supervisory responsibility, but will have indirect supervisory responsibility for personnel in Safety, Health and Environmental management roles at plant sites.
  • Must be able to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines.

Safety/Fire Protection Professional with a minimum of five years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry. Candidate must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Conducts complex health and safety and, security assignments for the facility under general supervision. May direct or lead the work of others.


Duties: Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures a safe environment for employees and the general public. Conducts safety meetings. Promotes public awareness. Provides deployment and training drills, as well as other department training. Maintains compliance regulations, issues hot work and confined space permits and constantly deals with regulatory issues. May coordinate emergency response teams for the facility. May coordinate annual safety and fire inspections. May develop safety policies and procedures. May provide consultation and recommendations for safety, fire protection and emergency response issues.

May provide general Plant Safety support for the Refinery. May conduct safety training and assist management with training needs. May oversee and survey compliance to Policy and Procedures relating to safety anddevelop and implement policies and procedures for compliance with OSHA regulations. May assist field management with loss control efforts including hazard assessment and control, compliance assessments and establishment of behavioral safety systems. Maintains close contact with assigned areas in the Refinery resolving safety sensitive issues.May provide Safety Hazard input to HAZOP studies. May provide safety coverage for Turnarounds and other special projects


Requirements: Must be available for weekend and after hour call-outs. Candidate must have the ability to work in an industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks and rotating equipment. Must be willing and able to perform outdoor duties under wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. The candidate should have good organizational and oral and written communications skills.

In addition, the candidate should have intermediate computer skills with basic office software and be able to satisfactorily complete a comprehensive medical physical examination.


BS in Safety and/or Fire Protection related field preferred; training and related experience may be considered. Other preferred specialized training includes: Industrial Fire Fighting; High Angle and Confined Space Rescue; Hazmat; EMT, Industrial Hygiene.

Salary: 70-82K Per Year

Position :Regional Safety Manager
Salary : $90-130k plus 20% bonus and relocation

The primary purpose of this position is to optimize all the safety processes across the three plants and the rest of company.  This position will ensure implementation of company safety policies and procedures.  This position is the liaison between the manufacturing plants and the related functional business units in corporate headquarters with respect to safety for the company.  This position is to assist in engaging all manufacturing employees in the continuous improvement process which relies on everyone’s participation and involvement in safety.  Another important aspect of the position is for the individual to implement global best practices in safety procedures, and quality improvements across all US operations.

1.Develops, implements, monitors and manages safety programs, policies and procedures, and guidelines to help maintain compliance with all safety regulations; keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.  Establishes standards, promotes improvements, evaluates compliance and, if necessary, suggests action to secure satisfactory results.

2.Serves as a Corporate contact with all federal, state and local regulatory bodies for Safety.

3.Responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating safety policy and procedure manuals.

4.Coordinates with Plant Safety Manager to determine required annual safety training; create in-house safety programs/ incentives that are tied to safety compliance.

5.Monitors the tracking of OSHA-required data.

6.Identifies and evaluates detrimental working conditions and makes adjustments to safeguard employee health.

7.Performs compliance audits and risk assessments; participate in annual safety compliance audits.

8.Monitors and maintains log of accident, injury or fatality at a worksite.

9.Investigates and remedies violations; limits exposure, citations and penalties.

Common Agenda has been entrusted to find a Network Health & Safety Program Manager who will report into the Environmental, Health and Safety organization with responsibility for overseeing and supporting Health & Safety for Network personnel across the country, and the company-wide Vehicle and Radio Frequency (RF) Compliance Programs.  He/She will serve as the single point of contact providing subject matter expertise in all aspects of Health, Safety, DOT and RF compliance while interfacing with HQ/Area/Regional employees, management and senior staff to meet defined program objectives and foster program advocacy.  The individual will participate in and/or facilitate all program activities, including but not limited to regular EHS conference calls, workshops, compliance audits, reporting and vendor management.  They will monitor OSHA, DOT, and FCC RF requirements, and update existing policies/procedures as necessary to comply with applicable changes in regulation.  He/She will define and oversee employee-training requirements and develop programs necessary to comply with applicable regulations and internal company policies.  He/She will conduct periodic audits to measure regional compliance and overall program effectiveness.

The candidate must possess experience in hazard communications, personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, confined spaces and fall protection with a working knowledge of Department of Transportation and Commercial Motor Vehicle regulations.  They also must also possess a fundamental understanding of wireless telecommunications and radio frequency exposure safety standards.  The individual must be a self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently to completion, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and advanced PC abilities.

EDUATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science or related Technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of Health and Safety compliance
  • Expert knowledge of federal and state Occupational Health and Safety laws (General Industry and Construction) and FCC RF exposure regulations.
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMHSA regulations pertaining to Commercial Motor Vehicles
  • Experience with IRP/IFTA a plus
  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with indirect reports to manage compliance related activities
  • Ability to operate well under pressure and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business in both written and oral forms
  • Advanced PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Adaptive to change, open to different viewpoints and ability to innovate
  • Strong negotiation and contractor/consultant management skills
  • Fundamental knowledge or current/previous experience in wireless communications a plus
